An award-winning screenwriter, journalist, and editor, Maryann began her career with Columbia Tri-Star Television in New York City as a copywriter.

An opportunity to work as a Story Editor for Penny Marshall, the iconic Oscar-nominated director of multiple films including Big, A League of Their Own, Awakenings, Riding in Cars With Boys, Cinderella Man, Bewitched, and numerous television shows brought her to Parkway Productions in Los Angeles, where she discovered and sourced potential film and television projects for directing vehicles.

At Parkway Productions, Maryann strengthened storylines, tightened scripts, and coached writers for in-house projects and spec scripts simultaneously. While developing potential film and television scripts, Maryann also built the coveted Sony Pictures and Universal Films internship program, a mentorship for graduate students in Screenwriting and Producing from AFI, USC, and UCLA.

No stranger to writing rooms and deadlines, Maryann has had several screenplays optioned and sold. She is the author behind the award-winning Los Angeles newspaper column "Raising Mommy;" a column about life from “The Middle Place” covering lifestyle, health, science, sports, and hot button issues.

Maryann knows how to put complicated thoughts into ideas and stories that are at once simple and memorable, and connect with people on an emotional level. With her unique background in screenwriting and journalism, she uses humor, pacing, tone, and clarity to say a lot with just a few words…
